Now Watching : My comp screen (computer center)

Im internet has been down for a very long time and so this is my first post in ages. Im doing this in aid of my internet media and communication class where I have to show a web page to the class and seeings as this site is so out of date I feel a new post is in order.

Im soo annoyed right now as I have been doing a presentaion for the past 2 weeks or so and have put alot of work into the whole deal. When I go to do the presentation after 2 weeks of stress and trying to get things ready my tutor never even shows up to the class and this has been the second week in a row now that he hasnt been there at least he sent a replacment the first time around. This time there was no word or anything I even went up to his office and put a note under his locked door with an unhappy message on it. What is even more annoying is that this whole subject is so unorganised and i get the feeling that nobody has any idea of how this whole teaching thing works. One lecturer we have is this annoying American women that spends more time scolding the class about talking during her boring ass lectures than actually teaching. The other lecturer for the subject is not as bad but he simply cuts and patses from the textbook and then reads from a power point presentaion. and combined with this lecture style arrgh it just make the whole thing so much harder than it has to be. Ohh well now ill have to do the whole thing once the class free is over.

Thats another thing i want to have a bitch about. They tell us that the whole "class free" break is not a holiday but a time to do uni work but all of the staff go home and have a holiday for the most part I know some stay for most of it and work.The thing is if its not a holiday then why have it at all why not just continue classes thorugh the "break" then we could acually spend a bit more time learning than just sitting around. Mind you the staff would the be up in arms because they lose their holiday (that of course is not really a holiday). The whole deal is really hypocritical.

Anyway thats my bitch for the day im going to surf the net now till my tute starts.

Has Anyone been able to see the new'ish ad for swimming pool safety featuring The Rodent (John Howard), it's fucking hilarious and the best part about it is that I dont think he knew he was on camera which means he comes off like a total tool which is always good in my book

While Im on politics Im really dissapionted to learn that Kevin Rudd is out of the leadership run for the labor party. He was their only hope of winning the next election. Now they've decided to dust off Ol' Kim Beazly in an attempt to sure up what they think will be a percption by the voting public of unity.

This is a complete farce appointing an old factional warrior such as Kim will only serve to disrupt the party further as he casts favors down on some while others will go unoticed. I thought the party had the message after the last leadership ballot that a generational change was in order for the party to advance. Kevin Rudd gave them that chance but in an attempt at a quick fix (mainly due to the upcoming WA state election) they are chosing to return to all of the old infighting and crap that has plagued the party for years now and has cost them 2 elections.

Not only did Kevin Rudd provide an opportuinty to break from the past in the sense that he provided a new (albiet) middle aged face to lead that party he also represnted and independant voice away from the trade union heavys and other powerful Faction leaders inside that party. His Position as an idependent party orientated candidate also gave him the ablity to effect real change on the party's structure Ie instead of the heads of the trade unions bascially control everything from chosing candidates to electing branch managers. It would lead the way for for the rank and file or the ordinary people who a members of the Labor party to actually have a say in what is going on without having to rely on doing deals with people who have not rightfully earned their place at the top of the pecking order. 

This change alone I belive would not only restore alot of the australian electrate's faith in Labor but would give the majority of its members far more faith to fight for their own party and its political ideals. By no means this is not the only change that Labor has to make beofre the next election, difference of policy from the goverment would be a good start but before any of this happens everyone has to belive in what they are doing and only then can you start thinking about policy and tatcics.

Ahh that was a fairly long rant so I will end this post on a good note Congrats to Alica Molick on her really hard forought win over Venus Willaims tonight it was a bloody great game to watch.

Hey all,

Had to get my daily simpsons fix before i did my frist blog entry. It's where I got the name for this blog. The idea is that with the internet and Tv jockey lifestylye that we all live in I decided to make up a new word to descibe the feeling that we all get when you are deprived of all this media. (Read christines blog about how the comp went down.) After we got it going again this weird sense of relief filled us both that we could do trival little things like check the lastest news, TV and email.

So, hypermediated began its life at 2:37am and i was so exited i woke christine up to give her the good news, and if anyone who is reading this has ever had the pleasure of trying to wake her up for anything u will know the experince and i was not greeted in a orderly fashion. However thanks to her i have a shiny new header that I think looks pretty spiffy.
